Behold... to serve is to live.

I woke up this morning and stumbled across a quote that truly wraps me up in a huge jumble of feelings and sentiments. I feel that it encompasses my view on life. I can't explain how I feel right now. It's like I have been working a crossword puzzle for 25 years trying to figure out the answer and then someone drops the next days paper on your lap and the answer is right there.

"I slept and dreamt that life was joy.

I woke and saw that life was service.

I acted and behold, service was joy."

-Rabindranath Tagore

Those words pretty much sum up how I feel about life. My NEED to serve, to love, to be in meaningful interaction with others, because in that time, that is where I find my Savior. That is where I find my Joy. Stir my heart O Lord, and do not let my dreams die. Align my life with your will and all my dreams with your dreams, there is my joy.

To Serve is to Love is to Live.

great weekend

Another great weekend at the D & B. Noons, Andy, Mark and I headed down there Friday night and hung out for a while. Got up early Saturday morning and went hunting. I had a little spike walk through but that was it. Noons dad saw 3 doe cross a field but they were to far to get a shot. After a long day of working and fishing and just hanging out, Mark had to leave and the rest of us all went back out. Just before dark I had a doe walk up towards the feeder by the stand I was at. I was able to get a shot on her, but was worried that I had shot low. I went down and saw my arrow covered in blood. I went and got noons and the guys and we started tracking. about 5 minutes and 100 yards later we found her. The shot started in the shoulder but because of the angle, passed right through the lungs, making for a quick clean kill. I was really happy about that... I don't want them to suffer. We took her back and cleaned her and had a great time... all 3 of us passing out by 10:30. We couldn't of asked for a better weather. Everything just fell into place. Thank you God for your wilderness and your creation. Thank you for the thrill of the hunt and the joy of the kill.

Prestidigitation.

Prestidigitation. I know most of you are saying to yourself... hey! isn't that the dumb word from Akeelah and the Bee?!? why yes. it is in fact that dumb word, but what is the definition I ask you. Well for answers to this and many other words definitions I present you an opportunity. It's called FREE RICE. What it is, is a game where you have to answer what the definition of words are. For every word you get the correct definition of, the website will donate 10 grains of rice to the poor and hungry. I spent about 15 minutes yesterday and a few minutes this morning on the game and have donated over 1300 grains of rice... and that included the time i was flipping to my email so my bosses wouldn't see I was playing around. So the point is, just by learning new words to use, so you can sound like the almighty wordsmith aka hunter slaton... you can also feed the hungry. I think this is brilliant and wonderful and boffo. and by the way, Prestidigitation means slight of hand.
